Seeds of Writing

The qualities and possibilities contained in a seed are endless. One seed becomes a maple that provides shelter, syrup, and beauty. Another blossoms into white alyssum. Yet another grows into a bunch of nourishing green spinach, or red tomato, or a green pepper. So many sizes, colors, smells, textures, and stories ready to unlock.

Seeds of Writing workshops provide a place to dig and nourish your seeds so that your stories, experiences, and imagination are expressed. The workshops are based on the Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) method.

Polly Giantonio, writer

A little about me, Polly

From the beginning of my work as a writer, I experienced the joy of uncensored creative expression. It aroused and unlocked rich, dormant material. A dream, a fairy tale, a myth, a physical experience, an emotional resonance, an overheard conversation – each offers a way in.

I design and facilitate workshops on creative writing and poetry. I’ve mentored students from 4 to 84 in academia, independent workshops, and 1:1. As a lifelong learner, I continue to study and work on the craft of poetry and writing. I’m also a trained AWA facilitator.

My poems and interviews have found homes in various print and online journals including Poets & Writers. Explore my list of published works here.

Contact me with questions or musings, and I’ll get back to you soon.
